      It is always beautiful to learn about the musical traditions that a culture holds. For this blog entry, I want to focus on the music that is played at a funeral. This is because the music played at a funeral holds  significance and great meaning to everyone attending. I will be breaking this blog up into two parts. The first part will focus on my experience with music while I attend a funeral held on my dad's side and the second part will be focusing on a funeral that is held on my mom's side. Funerals are a way to celebrate the life of a lost one and their are many cultural traditions that are followed. Music that is played at an African american funeral is often the blues, jazz, and soul music. Artist who make touching music with these kinds of genres include Whitney Houston, Kirk Franklin and Patti Labelle.        The person that I choose to interview for this blog assignment is my mother, Amanda Sardin. I actually am excited that I got to do this and learn more about her, as I have been wanting to interview her about various topics recently. I find it intriguing to learn about the people who were on this earth before us. As well as how life or the world has changed since their youth. Before I interviewed my Mother, my expectations were surprisingly successful. This is because when I am around her, she never has a certain kind of music playing. Hello everyone! I am Camiria Sardin and I am currently attending the class music of diverse cultures because I thought it intrigued me and I love to discover new cultures. I have produced music myself but only small projects in apps like garageband. I would love to produce music at a professional level at least once in my life. I actually would love to do or perfect everything at least once in my life. I am a highly curious person who loves to try new things and be creative.  I was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. My whole life I have been a hooper and I am currently redshirting for the Converse Womens basketball team. Before I came here to play basketball at Converse, I was in Illinois, and then Milwaukee, Wisconsin for basketball.
